           Bob Dylanís Dream
             capo 1st fret

   (Introduction)
G    Am  Em7  C    D   G

G                       Am
While riding on a train going west
C                              D
I fell asleep for to take my rest.
D                                                        G
I dreamed a dream and it made me sad.
                      Am              C           D                 G
Concerning myself and the first few friends that I had.

G                                    Am                              C
With half damped eyes I stared into the room.
Where me and my friends spent many afternoon.
Where we together we weathered many a storm.
Laughing and singing, till the early hours of the morn.

By the old wooden stove where our hats were hung.
Our words were told and our songs were sung.
We longed for nothing and we were satisfied.
To be talking and joking, bout the world outside.

With haunted hearts through the heat and cold.
We never thought we would get very old.
We thought we could sit forever in fun.
Although our chances were really, a million to one.

Now as easy as it was to tell black from white.
It wasnít all that easy to tell wrong from right.
For the choices were few and the thought never hit.
That the one road we traveled, could have shattered and split.

Now many a year has passed and gone.
Many a gambleís been lost and won
Many a road taken by many a first friend.
And each one of them, well Iíve never see again.

Well I wish, I wish, yes I wish in vain.
That I could sit simply in that room once again.
Iíd give ten thousand dollars at the drop of a hat.
Yeah, Iíd give it all gladly, if my life could be like that.
